According to information provided by the country’s Statistics Agency, in the first three quarters of 2024, the average cost of gasoline at gas stations increased by 2.9%. The average price per liter currently amounts to $1.03.

Per Global Petrol Prices, as of November 18 this year, average gasoline prices in other Central Asian countries were:

  • Turkmenistan — $0.43;
  • Kazakhstan — $0.49;
  • Kyrgyzstan — $0.85;
  • Uzbekistan — $0.99.

At the same time, in Russia the average cost of gasoline is $0.59 per liter, whereas in Afghanistan it is $0.89.

The countries that boast the lowest gasoline prices are Iran ($0.02), Libya ($0.03), and Venezuela ($0.03). Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, the price is the highest ($3.3).

Analysts at Global Petrol Prices point out that economically developed countries usually have higher fuel prices. At the same time, fuel prices tend to be lower in low-income countries and states engaged in oil production and export.

However, there is one exception — the United States of America. Despite the high level of economic development, gasoline prices in this country are relatively low.

Experts also note that the cost of fuel is influenced by various factors such as taxes and subsidies.
