On November 20, Tashkent hosted the International PLUS-Forum Retail Central Asia, where expert practitioners discussed global retail trends. Among them, Shukurullo Muminov, Deputy Head of the Department of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, drew the media spotlight with his statement that Uzbekistan plans to pay special attention to the development of e-commerce in 2025.
According to him, to support this specific segment, his department has introduced simplified procedures for filing and processing declarations, as well as automated key processes using information systems.
He also emphasized that in preparation for Uzbekistan’s accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO), the country has already begun implementing an agreement on simplification of customs procedures.
